A Morning Routine for Full-Time Working Moms
To all the hardworking full-time working moms who juggle endless to-do lists and still find the energy to love and nurture: I see you.
Mornings can often feel like a frantic race against time. But what if mornings could be smoother and filled with calm, even when life gets busy? As working moms, time is our most valuable asset, and we deserve mornings that are stress-free and productive. Here's how you can transform your routine and start your day with love and connection.
1. Plan Ahead
Mornings begin the night before. Load the dishwasher, prepare lunches, and lay out the kids' outfits. These small tasks pave the way for a smoother start.
2. Rise Before the Rest
Embrace the early hours as your me-time. Enjoy the quiet before the house stirs to life. Gauge your energy needs and aim for a good night's sleep.
3. Start with Prayer and Caffeine
Daily intentions set the tone. Begin with gratitude, surrender your worries, and seek strength. Follow with a moment of mindfulness over a warm cup of coffee or tea.
4. Prioritize Exercise
Find time to move. Whether it's joining the 5 AM club, a quick run, or a podcast-fueled workout, prioritize your health. It's not about when but how you fit it in.
5. Make Your Bed and Get Ready
Even at home, dressing up changes your mindset. A tidy bed and a polished look lift productivity and motivation.
6. Connection First Over Being a Drill Sergeant
Morning connection matters. Share hugs, stories, and laughter. It will help your kids listen so that you don’t have to be a drill sergeant first thing in the morning and will turns the grind into a cherished routine.
7. Use Routine Charts and Notes
Kids thrive on routine. Help them learn and enjoy independence with simple charts. Reminder notes ease forgetfulness.
8. Share the Load
Delegation is key. Share responsibilities and tackle the morning together. Balance is about smarter, not harder work.
9. Earned Rewards
Screen time as a reward teaches responsibility. Ensure tasks are complete before indulging.
Expect the Unexpected
Life isn’t perfect. Embrace flexibility and forgive imperfections. Your best is more than enough.
To the moms battling guilt and exhaustion: Your dedication is amazing. Remember, taking care of yourself isn't selfish—it's essential. You are creating a loving world for your children, simply by being you.
